The Colors of Cycling

tourdefrancecolors.jpgThe Tour de France began last weekend, and the explosion of colors provided by the racing riders remind me of a sea of flags. The bright and colorful combinations do catch the eye!

I became a cycling fan in another lifetime, when Deborah and I owned a bicycle shop, and our son raced as a junior. It was always colorful with the riders wearing their personal or sponsors’ jerseys. Brilliant primary colors: Red, Blue, Green, and Yellow. Every imaginable color combination making a splash across the vision as the riders streaked past.

The Tour de France is an excruciating test of physical endurance and strategy, played out in twenty-one stages. Imagine running twenty-one marathons in less than a month.

You can keep up with the action at Versus or ESPN. It really is a sight to see.
