Flags Across The Nation sponsors creative arts competition

Calling all creative types!

Flags Across The Nation is sponsoring two contests for patriotic art.

Flags Across the Nation Photo ContestThe I Love America Day Photo Contest occurs first, and celebrates the organization’s 2nd Annual I Love America Day, on March 19, 2007. The theme is “Reflections of Love for America.” Suggested ideas for photographs are:

* Patriotism
* Liberty and Freedom
* Military
* Americana scenes of landscape culture
* Images of the American Flag

There will be three winners selected for the photography contest. First place winner will receive $300. Second and third place winners will receive prizes donated by contest sponsors, and honorable mention winners may be selected.

The 5th Annual “Flags of Freedom” Children’s Patriotic Art Contest is for children in three divisions by grades: K-1-2, 3-4-5, 6-7-8. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in all three divisions, and the three First Place winners will receive the American Patriot Award.

Contest WinnersAll of the children’s artwork entered in the contest is used. The winners’ artwork will to be made into patriotic quilts, and included in Flags Across The Nation’s traveling exhibit, “Red White & You — Kids’ Patriotic Art from the Collection of Flags Across The Nation.” The other artwork will will be sent overseas to our deployed troops.
